The Ambassadors are the goodwill arm of the Chamber of Commerce.They help coordinate ribbon-cutting ceremonies, grand openings, BASH events and other Chamber functions, such as special events, which include the opening of the Ice Skating Rink and Ethics Day for students. An important role for the Ambassadors is to provide friendly “buddy” assistance to new members and thereby help them better understand and utilize their chamber membership.

Your Walnut Creek Ambassador committee is a fantastic way for you to meet people in our business community. You will have great opportunities to grow your business by making contacts in the Chamber and participating in Chamber activities. All this is available to you while you have fun making new friends and seeing your friends!

Business Links is a lively non-compete networking and business development opportunity for business professionals offering the power of high-speed connectivity with the personal touch of a handshake. Business Links is about building relationships, sharing business growth ideas, and generating leads by connecting professionals with other professionals and linking them to prospects and power partners.

“Growing Your Business” is the focus of member business presentations, guest speakers, and round-table brainstorming sessions about reaching business success.”

Membership in a Business Links group is open to Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce members and meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month. Registration and fee required. Please email if you have questions or would like more information.

Business advocacy is the heart of the Civic Affairs Committee and critical to the mission of the Chamber. The Civic Affairs Committee monitors and analyzes public activities that could impact the greater business community.

From growth management to business enhancement, from parking meters to parking structures, from the general plan to site-specific plans, the Civic Affairs Committee is engaged. In addition, the Committee is often supported by WALPAC, the Chamber’s effective political action committee.

This committee, which represents the Chamber and the business community in local, state and governmental issues, meets once per month, generally every second Tuesday at 9 a.m. The Chair for 2019–2020 is Ron Hermanson.

One of the most long standing and prominent committees of the Walnut Creek Chamber is the Education Committee. This group is composed of educators, administrators, business representatives, and government officials. This committee provides a unique opportunity for educators and business people to create joint projects and work together to improve the quality and value of the education system. Some projects completed by this group include:

  • Hosting Ethics Day
  • Hosting Teacher Appreciation receptions
  • Hosting a Hire Me! workshop for high school students
  • Partnering to bring an elementary school
  • Family Science Night Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month.
