Catharine Baker is a former State Assembly member for the 16th Assembly District from 2014 – 2018 and current Commissioner with the California Fair Political Practices Commission, which administers and enforces California’s landmark government ethics laws.  Catharine is Special Counsel at Hoge Fenton, where she advises businesses and non-profits and practices election law.  Lisa Tucker is president of the Tucker Group, a consulting firm that provides strategic political and communications consulting services for candidates, initiatives, advocacy groups and businesses.

City of Walnut Creek has engaged the community in conversations about the future needs of Walnut Creek. Those conversations have ramped up over the past two years, with the City engaging in discussions with residents regarding their priorities and interests, and evaluating growing needs related to the vital programs and services provided by the City. In particular, many City facilities such as the aging infrastructure in the pool and aquatic and sports facilities at Heather Farm and the community center that support the community’s most valued programs and services are decades old and nearing the end of their useful lifespans after constant use by thousands of individuals and families. To fund future quality of life needs, the City is exploring the concept of asking voters to consider a ten-year, 1⁄2 cent sales tax increase (ballot measure) in November 2022.
