Business advocacy is the heart of the Civic Affairs Committee and critical to the mission of the Chamber. The Civic Affairs Committee monitors and analyzes public activities that could impact the greater business community. From growth management to business enhancement, from parking meters to parking structures, from the general plan to site-specific plans, the Civic Affairs Committee is engaged. In addition, the Committee is often supported by WALPAC, the Chamber’s effective political action committee.
This committee, which represents the Chamber and the business community in local, state and governmental issues, meets once per month, generally every second Tuesday at 7:45 a.m.
The Chair for 2016–2017 is Charlie Abrams.
